It is so easy to take things for granted. I try my best to stay positive, and be thankful for all that I have. This weekend had a funny way of slapping me around a bit to help me realize what is important.
On Saturday I had just finished probably the best mountain bike ride of my life, and on my way home I was struck with a killer headache. It persisted long enough/was painful enough for me to go to the Doc.
The next few hours would be one hell of a whirlwind. I was told that I might have an aneurism.
WOW
It was a lot to process, after hours in the ER up at the University Hospital, blood tests and one CT scan later, I was released. The cause of the headache is unknown-no aneurism, but definitely a changed outlook on day to day life.
It is truly remarkable how fragile, yet resilient our bodies are.
At least I could lay on the hospital bed and think how amazing the past month had been. For people in the same situation I was in, I think that is about as much comfort as you can ask for.
